Item Description

Ink

9" x 7" x 0.75"

Abby Rovaldi holds a BFA from Mass College of Art & Design in Boston, MA. She prides herself in being an artist devoted to ink drawing as well as dabbling in mixed media and sculpture. Rovaldi is an award-winning artist who has been featured in numerous local, national and international exhibitions. Her work is found in permanent collections in Harrisonburg, VA, Taunton, MA, Brooklyn, NY and Siena, Italy. She maintains a working studio in Franklin, MA.

"Cobra Lily" is from the artist's "Bizarre Botanicals" series. The piece was created in 2018 using Micron pens in a variety of nib sizes. Recently, the artist's subject matter has focused on organic themes, such as mushrooms, succulents, celery roots and more! Rovaldi delights in the beauty of nature's patterns and strange occurrences. How a mushroom's cap consists of hundreds of folds and lines or a bizarre botanical's unique form propels the force of her pen or brush.
