Item Description

Ink 10" x 8" x 1"

Katherine Desy, a pen and ink artist from Attleboro, MA, creates fine line drawings that bend and morph networks of lines into symmetrical forms, embodying order amidst chaos. Originally trained in the Monart method, she returned to drawing in 2020, leading to more than 20 international exhibitions, including the AAM's 2024 "8 Visions" Exhibition. Desy is also the Director of Growth Marketing for Black Kite and serves on the Board of Directors for the Cambridge Art Association.

"Birds-Eye View" is part of Desy's signature series of pen and ink drawings and was completed in May 2024 for the AAM's "8 Visions" Exhibition. Typically, Desy asks friends or family what they see in a newly-finished piece to help with the name. "Birds-Eye View" came from the notion that the piece looks like the aerial view of a tower or a very complex, hexagon-shaped building.
