This art comes directly from Chartres and was brought back during the June 2024 Veriditas program, specifically for the auction.  For seasoned visitors, let the items transport you back to the beloved streets of Chartres... For those who have been part of our virtual programs from Chartres, let the items draw you into the familiar sights you've gotten to know through the screen... For those who might some day wish to travel to Chartres (physically or virtually) with Veriditas this would be an ideal set to introduce you to the beauty and grace of Chartres, France.

Veriditas staff member, Jenny Slama traveled to Chartres to support the June Veriditas program.  While there she was simply amazed at everything Chartres was - and meeting the labyrinth for the first time.  While in Chartres, Jenny searched for something special to donate to the 2024 Auction - and this was it! 

This print was found in a darling store directly across from the Chartres apartment that hosted the welcome reception.  Each day, Jenny would open her shutters and look at the bustling streets and peek at the busy pace of visitors to this store.  It was here, where Jenny was immensly impressed with the simplistic and modern style of art that captured the unique beauty of the neighboring Cathedral. 

In all her years working on the auction - and the special pieces that have carefully returned from Chartres for the event, this one stands out.  The stark white, textured paper sets the dramatic deep black typography and silhouette of the cathedral apart, and is finished off with a beautiful matte black frame.
