This Ashby Large Slate Turkey Call, Model 002, is a rare find from the 1980s, still in its original packaging and never used. Donated by Joe and Kathy Richardson from The Admiral's Historical Collection, this turkey call is a valuable piece for both collectors and hunters alike.
The Ashby Large Slate Call is designed for making a wide range of turkey sounds, from purrs to loud mating calls, offering exceptional versatility in the field. The call comes with two pegs: one made of Missouri walnut with cedar, and the other made of corncob with a birch peg. Each peg produces distinct sounds:
- The walnut peg creates louder calls, perfect for mating or lost calls.
- The corncob peg is ideal for soft purrs when birds are close or hung up.
