Ronna Pate's focus on Western-themed art is inspired by her grandfather, a cowboy in his younger days, with whom she shared a special bond as a child. Pate is fascinated by the trappings of cowboy living and working. Her paintings are not destined solely for rustic decor, she also aims to create paintings with a playful, lighthearted treatment that can bring lively interest to a space. Everyone deserves to enjoy the Western experience and allow it to brighten their lives, spirits and surroundings!
These saddles are all headed to a Carousel Casting Call, hoping to get a role! They don't usually dress up like this but they all agreed it might get them noticed and give them an edge! The artist loved the overlapping saddles shown as though running in a herd. This piece was inspired by the artist's grandfather, a cowboy in his younger days, whose stories made her fall in love with all things Western!
