Item Description
Snorkeling Kealakekua Bay
Kealakekua Bay is one of the best Kona snorkel sites on Hawaii Island. With its natural wind protection, remote location and designations as an underwater state park, marine sanctuary, and site of the Captain Cook Monument, Kealakekua Bay is earning a reputation as the best snorkeling destination in Hawaii.
According to Hawaii – The Big Island Revealed, The Ultimate Guidebook, “Snorkeling in Kealakekua Bay near the monument is perhaps the best you will find anywhere in the state.”
4.5-hr Cruise
Check-in time 8:30 AM
Returns 1:30 PM
Expires 12/14/2025
Depart in the morning on an aquatic adventure that will take you through the colorful history of the Big Island.
We begin in Keauhou Bay, where Hawaii’s longest-reigning monarch King Kamehameha III was born, and we will share with you stories of old Hawai’i as we travel towards Kealakekua Bay. Learn about the last battle stand at the Kuamo’o Battlefield and view the Royal Holua Slide, the best and largest of its kind in the state! Inside of Kealakekua Bay, the Captain Cook Monument stands tall as a way to commemorate the site in which the celebrated circumnavigator, Captain James Cook, perished in 1779.
Guests are served a light, plant-based tropical breakfast with a fresh island fruit bowl, traditional muesli, homemade banana bread, herbal tea, and 100% Kona Coffee grown on the Fair Wind family farm. Our island-inspired, plant-based lunch features a savory BBQ Jackfruit & coleslaw sandwich (pulled pork style) and tasty chickpea sandwich (tuna salad style). Sides include Ulu (breadfruit) & purple sweet potato salad and a mixed green salad with an array of homemade dressings. To top things off, enjoy a fresh cookie dessert before heading back out for more beautiful snorkeling. During the last hour of the cruise, our cash bar is open with cocktails, beer & wine for purchase.
