This lithograph is a print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
Bruce Hochman ® ™ OS has kindly confirmed the authenticity of this work. Hochman is the proprietor of the world’s only gallery devoted exclusively to the works of Salvador Dali. In 1996, he was inducted into the prestigious “Order of Salvador” at the Salvador Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, FL in recognition of his contributions to the Dali art world. The artwork here, "Rembrandt Portrait Du Peintre Par Lui-Meme", is a wonderful depiction of the legendary Dutch painting, that is saturated with vibrant color and acute detail throughout. Also, measuring approximately 33 ¼” x 25” (archival matted to 31” x 23 ½”) and 42” x 34” with the high-quality frame, the immaculate artwork is of impressive craftsmanship and size. Finally, it has remained in excellent condition since being published in 1974, is hand signed in the lower right corner.
Salvador Dali's art has been exhibited in major museums, and can be found in some of the most prestigious public and private collections worldwide.
Condition Report*:
Mild toning, primarily evident on verso. A few mild marks in recto margins and on verso. An impressed line along left margin about 1" into the sheet. Minor handling dents, primarily evident under raking light. Unframed. No tears or losses observed.
