Item Description
Commemorate Mount Vernon’s rich history with this elegant Longfellow Chair Ornament. Inspired by the chair donated in 1888 by Miss Alice Longfellow, daughter of poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, this piece honors both artistic legacy and historical preservation.
The chair was once believed to have been used by George Washington at the Craigie House during the Siege of Boston, but later research showed it was made after the Revolution—an enduring tale where history meets legend.
