Item Description

Experience one of the most exciting natural and cultural History sites in the Portland / Vancouver area. 
  • Enjoy a personally guided tour through the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge with President of the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.
  • Experience wildlife in an undisturbed natural setting of this 5,150 acre preserve of marshes, grasslands and woodlands.
  • Visit the Chinook Tribe Cathlapotle Village archeological site and the campsite used by Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery.
  • See a replica of a cedar plankhouse like those visited by Lewis & Clark and documented in their journals on November 5, 1805.
  • Learn fascinating information about the area's ancient environment and the archeological research by Portland State University.
This 2-3  hour tour will be hosted by Friends of the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge and will include a 2 mile walking tour (Flat Terrain) and a picnic lunch for up to 12 people.  It’s a chance to observe wildlife, learn about your natural environment, brush up on your local Native American History and enjoy good food and drink with friends and family.
