Item Description
Garmin has taken their affordable and simplified Nuvi 200 family one step further with the addition of the 260. What makes the Nuvi 260 different from the other 200 series units is the addition of Text-to-Speech voice directions. Text-to-Speech will not only announce the distance to your next turn, it will also announce the name of the street that you will be turning onto. You still get the slim design and beautiful 3.5” color touch screen, as well as an easy to use operating system. Built-in is the same 12-channel high sensitivity GPS receiver for fast acquisitions and superior satellite tracking.
The Garmin Nuvi 260 comes pre-loaded with the Garmin City Navigator data for North America, with data provided by Navteq. The nüvi 260 is also loaded with nearly 6 million Points of Interest including Hotels, Restaurants, ATM’s, Gas Stations and many more. Just use the touch screen to enter in the address or point of interest that you want to navigate to and the Nuvi 260 will provide both vocal and on screen directions to your destination. The Garmin Nuvi 260 can be viewed in either 2D overhead or a 3D view of the road ahead. If you miss a turn do not worry as it will recalculate directions and get you back on track. Are you going to walk around and unfamiliar city? The Nuvi 260 has a pedestrian mode so it can give you the best directions for travel by foot.
The Nuvi 260 comes with built-in support for the travel kit which includes a JPEG picture viewer, world clock, currency converter, measurement convert and a calculator. Garmin also gave the Nuvi 260 and SD card slot for the storage images. The Garmin Nuvi 260 will also accept the optional Garmin Travel Guide and Garmin Language guide to an SD card through on board SD memory card expansion slot.
