Item Description

This original 24" x 48" oil painting, alizaron crimson, on particle board is one of three panels from the triptych The Three Faces of Steve by David F. Martin.

About the Artist: For Mr. Martin, art is about finding beauty and design in the everyday things with which we surround ourselves for comfort and reassurance.  He is a firm believer in the power of art to influence our emotion and attitude. His paintings are meant to be positive, for they challenge the viewer to see the beauty in a bloom, a building, anything that is familiar yet unobserved.

Mr. Martin's style is representational.  He likes to take an object and make it special, to give it importance either by enlargement or placement on the picture plane.  With light and shadow, he attempts to achieve monumental status, something like an icon.  By centering things or showing them at a bird's eye view, he offers a quirky, pleasing view of everyday objects.
