Item Description

Matisse Chair

Upholstered Chair

Created by Mitch Ryerson

Maple and wenge chair handcrafted to the highest standards. Constructed with mitred corners and internal finger jointed frame for strength and rigidity. Wenge crest rail and hand carved diamond shaped details on maple legs. The legs are finished with three layers of tough lacquer that is hand rubbed. The Matisse-inspired pattern of the all natural fiber fabric complements the geometric pattern and colors on the legs. Designed with attention to the back view, as well as the front.

Studio Furniture artist Mitch Ryerson is widely known for his colorful and inventive forms. The art he creates is multilayered-compositions of many materials, shapes, and ideas. His ultimate aim is to engage us with color, proportion, movement, repetition, function, and humor. To convince us to sit, smell, look, laugh, and appreciate.

Dimensions: 34.0in H x 19.0in W x 21.0in D

This chair has been donated by the artist himself.
