Item Description
Zulu Beerpot
This clay pot is coil-built and open pit-fired. It is approximately 40-50 years old and used for drinking beer in a social setting. In South Africa, making beer pots stopped 25-30 years ago as tin and plastic containers replaced them. The tradition of making these works was not passed on.
Approximately 9 x 10 x 10”
This clay pot was donated by Pucker Gallery. Pucker Gallery features an eclectic and sophisticated collection of contemporary art from around the world.
