Item Description
Center Concert Hall, to hear Leonard Bernstein’s Mass (Bernstein's most controversial work, which he considered his greatest) with Marin Alsop and The Baltimore Symphony. Mass is a celebration of human faith though one which also questions the relevance of ceremonial rituals and immutable "truths" in an increasingly faithless world. Elements of Broadway and opera, rock ballads and blues, with a narrative blending Hebrew and Latin texts. Audiences leapt to their feet at the 1971 premiere, acknowledging this iconic work that accurately captured the anti-establishment sentiment of the time. It remains an awe-inspiring production. Don't miss this one! Bid on two (2) Center Orchestra seats in Row R, Sunday October 26,2008 at 4 PM.
